Support: Mobile phones

Before you send us a query to our Helpdesk about a malfunctioning device, please read the points below first to see if there is already a solution. Really do this as over 50% of queries have a solution as described below. Thank you.

Download the Android 11 manual here.

1) SMS is not coming
- sometimes SMS does not arrive, in this case it is necessary to update the messaging app
- play store > "messages" > update

3) The mobile phone has 8 GB of internal memory according to the specifications, but I see a different number in the settings.
The mobile phone contains 8 GB of internal memory, however, the usable amount is only 7.7 GB due to the conversion from decimal to binary system understandable to electronics. This memory is divided into 1-1.8 GB, which is usually claimed by the Android system, then into 0.89 - 2.5 GB, depending on the type of mobile phone, for applications and some user data and the last part is 4-5 GB for other data (video, pictures, etc.) and for data of the connected USB flash drive.
As it is in the phone:
1.Internal storage - storage for applications
2.SD card - (should be more like SSD drive or internal SD card) - storage for data like video, pictures etc.
3.External SD card - a microSD card inserted into the phone that cannot store apps. It is used to store data that you then want to read on your computer.

4) I don't have enough internal memory on my mobile phone for apps.
In this case, we recommend uninstalling unused apps and installing an app to clean the data of apps that are stored in memory and then not deleted. We recommend Clean Master or AppMgr Pro III (App 2 SD).
Some apps can be "Moved to SD" to free up memory for apps. To move apps, go to System - Apps - select the app - click on "Move to SD". This option is only supported by some apps and may not always be available on Android.
Another option is to use the "Clear Data" button in the same interface as in the previous sentence, which clears the cache of data the app stores and sometimes unnecessarily.
Another option is if you have photos and downloaded files then move them to the second larger part of the internal memory if the internal memory is partitioned.
More information can be read here.
For toymakers and experienced users then this guide exists however at your own risk only, we are not responsible for any problems. Rooting your phone will void your warranty.

5) I need to transfer my contacts to another mobile phone.
You can find the complete instructions described here or here.

6) I need to manage contacts, SMS, etc. from my computer.
You can use third-party apps that manage data for Android phones. More here and here.

7) How to take screenshots/pictures of your phone's display.
Simultaneously press the phone's On/Off button and the Volume (-) button.

8) When I call a phone number from the list, the recipient sees my number hidden.
Contact your operator, who must cancel the display of the hidden number.

9) I need to assign a ringtone for a group of contacts.
Unfortunately, ringtone settings for individual groups are not possible on Android. This is a shortcoming of this operating system in general for all mobile phones that run on it.
However, it is possible to solve this with the Group Ringtones app from Google Play. Once you open the app, you can easily set the ringtones for individual groups.

Click Settings/ Exit background apps/ find the app you want in the list and tick it.

15) How to use custom music for ringtones, sms, alarm etc?
Copy the desired melody to the correct folder, e.g. for ringtones to storage/emulated/0/media/audio/ringtones/ and for SMS/Notifications to storage/emulated/0/media/audio/notifications/, the tones can be downloaded from Google play and the apps will copy it to the correct location themselves. In general, always look for the Ringtones and Notifications folder. Once copied, go to Settings - Sound and Notifications - General and then select the copied file for the phone ringtone and for the notification sound, which will appear in the overview of all sound files. This is not phone related, it's an android thing.

16) How to change SMS notification alerts in alternative applications.
Set the desired notification tone in the alternative SMS notification app. Then click on the 3 dots in the SMS manager on the top right and select "settings". Select "notifications" and under "sound" select "default ringtone". Now your new notification should work properly.

This notification can only be turned off by disabling this feature, which can be found in Settings/Security/Application Management and turned off. Be sure to tick that you do not want to be notified further.

23) I need to set the language of the keyboard on my phone to English (it is automatically English and so I can't type hooks etc.) In Settings - Language, English is set, yet the keyboard displays English when I type SMS or save contacts.
It still needs to be set up: Settings -> Languages and input -> Virtual keyboard -> Keyboard android -> set "Language" to "Czech".

When you receive an incoming call, the screen display is off and you cannot answer the call, or the display lights up when you put the phone to your ear.
The solution is to more accurately direct the head/ear to the proximity sensor so that it is completely obscured or to calibrate the proximity sensor.

31) How to connect headphones to iGET DEFENDER D10 mobile phones?
The iGET Defender D10 mobile phone uses a shared charging and headphone jack. Using the microUSB connector, it is possible to connect headphones with a standard 3.5mm jack when using a reducer (not included). The reduction must have an extended microUSB connector.

32) Poor call quality, problem with the earpiece or microphone.
If the call is of poor quality and you hear noise or other disturbing noises during the call, we recommend activating the free Volte (LTE calling) service from your operator to improve the quality of the call. If you and your device are in a location with poor operator coverage, it is also possible to use Wi-fi calling, but it must be activated with your operator, the device must support this function and the location must have a good wi-fi signal.
